Practical Nursing

Practical Nursing focuses on developing a primary degree of skill in performing bedside nursing care. This 50-week program meets five days per week. Clinical instruction is performed in the classroom lab with up-to-date training mannequins and equipment. Actual hands-on care to develop skills is obtained in various local health care facilities in a variety of settings. The program encompasses 1360 clock hours: 876 classroom hours, 484 clinical hours.

Critical thinking and problem-solving are stressed throughout the curriculum. Students completing the program can take the NCLEX-PN exam to become a licensed practical nurse. Completion of the program, however, does not automatically guarantee licensure.
