Step 1

Complete an application for your desired program of study.

Complete an application form and submit it and applicable fees to PBTCC. Application forms can be picked up at the main office at the PBTCC Oak Grove Road site.

The completion of the application is not a guarantee of admittance.  Only applicants who have completed the application and completed the application processes will be considered for acceptance.  PBTCC Application additional documents are as follows:  
*Application fee of $60 (non-refundable, make check payable to PBTCC)
*Copy of Proof of Immunizations Record
*Copy of Birth Certificate
*Copy of Drivers License
*Copy of Social Security Card
*Copy of a Proof of Residency (Official mail sent to your home address or address listed on application, i.e. utility bill, phone bill, etc)
*Copy of Marriage License (If it applies)
*Take the Entrance Exam at the Missouri Jobs Center

Step 2

Request your transcripts.

Call your high school and college and request that your official transcripts be sent to PBTCC or request your GED scores be sent to PBTCC. Official transcripts or GED scores must be received directly from the granting source. Student copies, or transcripts and GED scores delivered by students to PBTCC are not acceptable.

Step 3

Assess your academic ability.

Upon receiving your completed application and fee you will need to arrange a time and date for an academic assessment.  To complete the admission process students will need to take the Workkeys NCRC exam at the local jobs center.   Call 573-213-2921 to schedule an appointment with the Missouri Job Center located at 2080 Three Rivers Blvd - Room 110, Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  Let them know you are a PBTCC Applicant and would like to register to take the Workkeys-National Career Readiness Credential (NCRC) Exam.  Plan 1-2 hours for registration and 3-4 hours for test taking (tests are scheduled after your original registration).   A copy of the completed scores must be provided (by you the student) to PBTCC to finalize your application and to be considered for acceptance into a program.  The Missouri Job Center will also determine (as a part of their services) your eligibility for additional assistance (including financial assistance) as well as provide career services (resume building, interview and job seeking help).

Step 4

Receive your Acceptance Letter.

Upon receipt you are officially scheduled to be apart of the next class and can begin the following steps.

Finance your education.

The Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center offers financial aid in the form of grants, scholarships, and student loans. The majority of funds are provided through federal and state programs. Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA is the first step in seeking financial aid. Applications can be accessed or downloaded at the FAFSA website, www.fafsa.ed.gov.  High school counselors or the PBTCC Financial Aid Coordinator can answer questions regarding the process of completion of a FAFSA. Use the PBTCC Federal School Code 013683 when completing financial aid forms. Call the PBTCC Financial Aid Coordinator at 573-785-2248 for further information.

Step 6

Pay your tuition.

Tuition and fees can be paid at the PBTCC main office. Arrangements for payment of tuition and fees must be made five business days prior to the first scheduled day of classes.

Step 7

Attend your orientation.

You will receive information regarding the date of your program’s orientation meeting. It is essential you attend this meeting.

Step 8

Begin your classes!
